Meatloaf Monday!

I have been hearing great things about The Gathering Place in Fort Myers and today finally went to check it out.
It was AMAZING!
I want to go back for dinner. But they are only open for breakfast and lunch. I may be back later this week for lunch again. It was that good.
Each day the specials are posted on their Facebook page and as you can see, today was Meatloaf Monday. I love Meatloaf but I usually don't eat it as a sandwich. I fully intended on removing it from the bread but when it arrived it looked perfectly delicious so I left it as-is to experience it in its authentic form. AND I was so glad that I did.

I ate every last piece of that sandwich. The meatloaf was flavorful and just the right amount of flavor. Each bite was as good as the last. I didn't think it could get any better, then I saw the desserts. I do not usually leave room for dessert but while we waited for our food I was eyeing these chocolate covered goodies so I took some to go. Chocolate covered peanut butter Ritz cracker sandwiches and smores squares. They were equally delicious. Next time I will be taking a piece of pie to-go.

 My co-workers joined me for lunch and each enjoyed another one of the daily specials, Bacon and Avocado Salad with ranch dressing. They both said it was delicious.

The location of The Gathering Place is certainly odd. The building was a Nursing Home facility and still very much looks like a nursing home with a salon, library, and individual rooms in different wings. But do not let the facility keep you away. You will be so glad you stopped in.

Overall we had a lovely lunch and the prices were great. My sandwich was only $7.50 and the salad was $7.00. We will definitely be back for more very soon.
